Mr. Paddock, would it be accurate for me to assume that you were a vociferous defender of President Bush? Well I would highly doubt it, as a matter of fact, I would be willing to double down on that bet, with another assuming that you have made comments these past 8 years regarding "hating" or "loathing" that "idiot Bush."

I hope I am not stepping on toes my dear Tom, as I am certain that you could fend off this hackneyed criticism (Fox News is for the Right, Conservatives are full of hate, you hate President Obama) with your typical erudition but I wanted to jump in the mix anyway. Particularly regarding the veiled innuendo about those of us who protested being racists ("you're protesting Obama").

I would like to point out that the typical liberal response of refuting the claim of "liberal-media bias" is best carried out by pointing at Fox News and saying "ugh! but THEY do it too?" I will overlook the humor in this argument; that the myriad left-leaning television news stations quiver because they face competition from ONE right-leaning television station. Yes, we get it, Fox News is Conservatively biased, so that is your argument? CNN and MSNBC and PBS aren't biased because Fox News is? I pray, please let me know when Fox News sent a reporter into one of those anti-war protests and that reporter sought out signs and people that made the collective look like intellectual duntz's. Aha, despite that every TEA protest went without violent occurrences, while violent outbursts were, while not an often one, an occurrence with the anti-war protests.

Your second hackneyed argument, regarding the amount of spending under Presidents Bush and Obama, is a fallacy as well. It's now ok to excessively spend because President Bush spent. However! When president Bush excessively spent it was still wrong, because Conservatives should have protested it.

I would hope that you look at the literature that compares the spending, and enlighten by juxtaposing the spending of the two regimes. Furthermore, I am sure that I can find myriad Conservative writings and radio/television clips of Conservatives protesting then President Bush's spending! Including the Bailouts and before! You all have chucked President Obama's Cool Aide with the tenacity of a college kid chugging jungle-juice at a frat party.

Oh, wait. You all use protest and applaud protest, but when conservatives use protests they are jokes. But not the otherway. I have to stop. I could write a whole new article making you look intellectually dishonest.

Hey Tom, hope you're well.

I wanted to chime in and say that it sounds like you're misreading the media and "the left." I haven't heard anyone call these protesters "unamerican" or "unpatriotic" or saying they should be beaten, arrested, thrown out of the country, etc. Yet that's what the right-wing media has said about liberal activists over the last 8 or so years.

What the MSM are calling out is the hypocrisy and irony of outlets like Fox News *endorsing* and orchestrating these protests. They are right to do so. During the Bush years Fox chided CNN for even showing anti-war protests on their broadcast. Not only is turnabout fair play, but it is invited in this case. And it's only been two and a half months!

So the first element of what you're hearing is the incredulity at how quickly right-wing media and idols have changed their stance on protesting government policy. But the second element you'll hear about is the irony that they are protesting the very things which they supported for eight years under Bush! You mention spending, yet fail to acknowledge that the Bush administration spent far more than any administration ever! Where were your protestations then?

The GOP and their idols couldn't be more transparent, so don't be shocked when the MSM sees through you. You aren't protesting the policy, the taxes, or the spending. You're protesting Obama and the nebulous concept of "the left" which you've been taught to fear and hate irrationally.

Fortunately it seems that most of the country sees through you as well.
