Hello everyone,

I realized today that posts have been somewhat sporadic as of late and I thought I would let everyone in on my goings on.

Most of my time over the last several weeks has been dedicated to the broadband issues involved with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, commonly refered to as the Obama stimulus package.? Today I turned in a rather lengthy paper addressing the broadband portion of the stimulus package and hope to have it published as a white paper through CEI very shortly.? Hopefully before the Senate vote on the package.

The paper addresses most of our concerns that government funding will have on future networks, net neutrality issues and regulations enforcement via the acceptance of funds to build out networks, and marketplace competition that would be affected by a company receiving what boils down to ISP subsidies that competing companies wouldn’t have.

I feel the paper has come a long way in just a short number of weeks, and really does a fine job breaking down the issues using past and current examples of the expansion of networks.

I will post up a link to the paper as soon as we get it posted.
