New Hampshire Conservative is Toast
Last week, a conservative radio talk show host and blogger in New Hampshire made some extraordinarily offensive and downright hateful comments regarding New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Raymond Buckley’s homosexuality. Fortunately, the people of New Hampshire don’t take this kind of garbage lying down. According to The New Hampshire Union Leader, “Issuing statements denouncing Lambert’s comments were U.S. Senate candidates Kelly Ayotte and Ovide Lamontagne, congressional candidate Frank Guinta, state Sen. Jeb Bradley, R-Wolfeboro, candidate for governor Jack Kimball, state Rep. William O’Brien, R-Mont Vernon, who co-chairs the House Republican Alliance, and Kevin Smith, director of Cornerstone Policy Research, a self-described pro-family group.” The host, a man by the name of Doug Lambert, was also promptly dropped from his radio program and his weekly Laconia Daily Sun column, declared he will take a leave of absence from a blog he contributes to and has left his position as county captain for the Frank Guinta congressional campaign.
I’m very glad he’s gone. Being against gay marriage does not mean one must act the part of a bigoted fool. I’m pleased by the reaction from influential New Hampshireites to shut him down as quickly as possible, and it proves yet again that the Fairness Doctrine, localism and other government controls over media are not necessary to make certain idiots like Mr. Lambert are punished for their vitriol. The people can handle themselves quite well.
