Pseudo-Scientists Kill Possum (Not to be confused with Opossum)

In one of the most bizarre incidents of the Global Warming phenomenon, “scientists” in Australia are reportingthe possible extinction of a little fury white possum that lives[d] in the Daintree rainforest of Queensland.

He’s really quite cute…and possibly dead.

The cause of death has been related to a 1.5F increase in temperature, which is obviously due to global warming and not natural temperature fluctuations.

But I digress.?

So the little bugger apparently could not take the heat and is now extinct.? (Or possibly in hiding, and if so I’m sure we will receive a retraction from the “scientists” at a later date, baring weather conditions, of course,?for an outside press announcement.)

What makes this matter super strange though is the fact that the HadCRUT temperature data is reporting a drop in temperature in 2008 by roughly the same amount the Australian “scientists” are claiming an increase.

And to clarify that this is not just a world wide average that Australia is not apart of, I point out that Australia has been reporting record thirty year low temperatures for months.

So, what have we learned?? Temperatures go down across the globe and in Australia, “scientists”claim 1.5F increase in Daintree rainforest, possum extint.

To be honest with you, if the little guy can’t withstand a 1.5F increase in temperature, he shouldn’t be living in a rainforest.? I hear those places are hot!? I mean this is really ridiculous.? Where I grew up the temperature fluctuated 80 degrees in the course of a year, and animals weren’t dying out, especially not our opossums (not to be confused with the possum).? I imagine a dense rainforest going through seasons of extreme heat, humidity, cold, rain, and so forth has massive temperature fluctuations as well. So if this nice little white possum could not take a 1.5F degree increase he should have moved.

Thus I give the white possum, the “Dodo of Daintree,” the Al Gore Purple Heart, and a big fat nomination for the Darwin Award.

“It is not looking good,” researcher Steve Williams said. “If they have died out it would be first example of something that has gone extinct purely because of global warming.”
